While at Dallas Comic Con I ran into the Joker and he forced me to upload the following message!
While you’re here make sure to check out all the amazing balloon costumes and cosplay I’ve created over the years for different cons and events. I’m still not sure what I’ll be dressing you as this Halloween, but I know for future conventions I’ll be doing Anger from Inside Out and a minion from Despicable Me. At some point I also want to do a potted Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. I’d make my body the pot and build Groot up.
Oh exciting news! I’m looking into purchasing a booth for Dallas Comic-Con Sci-Fi Days event in February! I’ll be selling certain pieces as an add on for costumes and booking parties and events. I might also sell signed prints of my cosplay.
End of a Comic Con Era. Saying goodbye to Ben (Joker) and Devin
The Joker above was created for my friend Ben Ambroso who did the video above. For the past five years he has been a judge or host for the Cosplay Competition along with Devin Pike who has run the event for ten years. This year they announced it was to be the final competition and they were stepping down from all official responsibilities at the conventions. I first met them 3 years ago at my first con when I decided last minute to compete as The Inflatable Hulk. I happen to be the only honorable mention at that competition and won a signed poster and POP. I’ve come to really love and appreciate them as part of my con family even though I don’t see them too much outside of the events. They are two very different men and both incredibly creative in their own way. I don’t know what this means for Dallas Comic-Con, but I certainly wish Ben and Devin all the best and hope our paths cross again soon. And Ben, you’ll always be my favorite Joker.
